Twitter is my friend!

This is just a quick tester as I don't blog as much as I should and haven't quite worked out how to use html yet, so I'm going to test it out with the use of a pretty 'Follow me' button!!

So, 13 chapters in I suppose I'm really doing this thing. So, here's a quote from the book. I hope some of you get to read it!! I'll finish it as quick as I can.
"Suddenly a blaring gunshot is heard, followed by another and another. Three shots fire at the creature before it falls to the ground revealing the figure of Jack’s rescuer at the end of the alley, still holding her gun."

This week at Doothcrow HQ

Doothcrow: The Movie!!

Are the team going to reunite?

The origins of Doothcrow are about to be revealed.

The world is ending and Doothcrow has to look back before they can look forward....

This year, we bring you the final chapter within the Doothcrow Universe, through the medium of paper!

Yes, not a movie, but not quite a hard back. To experience Doothcrow: Origins, you will need to get your hands on a copy of the Doothcrow Magazine!!

This is a one off edition, which will feature the Movie script, interviews, pictures, posters and much more.

To get involved, we're also offering advertising space for your websites, your own fan films, or anything else you want to advertise. Just send your top quality A4 adverts to doothcrow@gmail.com

Once the adverts are in, articles produced and page designs complete, we'll get a definitive quote on the cost of the advert, which may even be free if we can get a great deal!! However, it might cost us loads! But we are going to top the fee at £5. The top prise we will charge will be £5, but we are going to work on bringing that down for you.

For £5 (or less) you will get a full A4 page dedicated to whatever you want e.g. your YouTube channel, twitter page, your own fan magazine. Obviously there will be a limited amount of pages available, so get in there quick!!

We hope you enjoy this product and get involved! We're sorry we couldn't bring you the actual movie but due to time and cost, we were unable to do so. We hope this will make up for it.

Postage Due

Hi Doothcrow fans!!

So last year I visited Spain where I filmed a video I can't wait to upload for you guys! Then there was the trip to Warwick Castle. Some of you might have seen the photo we posted at Halloween. I can't wait to edit that video for you! Then there should be an announcement video about our project to be filmed this summer, which we'd love as much help with as we can get. I'm sure that'll get filmed soon.

However, our problem is I have no working video editing software! I don't mean I don't have, but none of it works. I mean even Windows Movie Maker. As soon as I open any of them, the application freezes and I have to exit the program. They only possible issue I can think is relating it to the Graphics driver, but it's been updated, rolled back, re-installed... Now I'm out of ideas. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.

Until then, I hope you look forward to any up coming videos we do and you can still follow Doothcrow on Facebook and Twitter!

A little Halloween treat for you....

I couldn't find Julian the USB stick today, so I had to use my old one, Stinson, and on it I found this picture, coincidently quite close to Halloween!

Hope you enjoy!

If you would like your own medieval torture photo, visit Warwick Castle!

Goodbye BBC Birmingham Post Productions :'(

So this is goodbye to post-production at BBC Birmingham for;
The Sky At Night
Countryfile
Coast
Doctors
Country Tracks
and more...

End of an era.

I feel so incredibly sad for my friends and for this city. It's a harsh and insulting blow to the people who first put professional snooker on the telly and developed Top Gear!

I love Birmingham and I loved our BBC; before, during and after my time there.

I don't want to abandon the BBC, but they make it hard to like them.

Indy Mogul quotes Doothcrow!!

...This may have been unintentional... but then you never know!

I always look up to Indy Mogul, as they do exactly what we do! ...Only better and more their work is more original.

Anyway!

Indy Mogul...

For those who haven't heard of these epically awesome short filming making Californian gurus, Wiki summarises:

'Indy Mogul is an Internet-based video webcast geared towards amateur film-makers and film enthusiasts, and consists of a number of weekly shows that air both on the Indy Mogul website and YouTube'

For me personally, the most impressive work they do is with their Back Yard Effects series, where they 'Building Hollywood's special effects on a budget' and I've learnt so much from them. More so than I've got around to putting into practise. Anyway, they always put their own builds into practise through their test films; short films that look totally wicked!!

This month is War Month, which I am totally loving, as they teach us how to blog things up (or look like we're blowing things up) and build guns (fake ones that is)!

But they took some time out of their War Month to make this special Awesome Trailer, promoting the up coming 6th series of Doctor Who.

To hear them quote Doothcrow, our Torchwood parody series, (intentional or not) skip to 2:44, but this one really is worth watching start to finish, as is anything made by Indy Mogul.

For the original line, check out this vid at 5:16 (and I'm so, so sorry for the sync xx We're hoping to re-master and fix this, along with the colour for Blu Ray)

And don't forget to watch the new series of DOCTOR WHO, starting this Saturday at 6.00pm, BBC1

There will also be a special tribute to Elisabeth Sladen straight after The Impossible Astronaut on Saturday, at 6.45pm, on CBBC.

RIP Elisabeth Sladen. After entertaining so many young Doctor Who fans so many years ago, and those same children as adults now, as well as a new generation of Who fans, I thought you would always be here. We'll never forget you xxx
